Fasano explained to me that “People thought I was crazy till I wasn’t in Asbury Park.” Fasano saw boarded up buildings in Asbury Park, NJ and where people saw blight and an area that was dead…Fasano invested his time, his vision, and money into breathing new life into Asbury Park and bringing music. The night followed with performances by Gerald Albright and the band Pieces Of A Dream.ĭuring the AC Jazz festival, I was invited to the rooftop behind the main stage to meet with Orange Loop Amphitheater Owner, Pat Fasano. The show must have felt good to Jeff too because, on his last song, Bradshaw took his trombone and his mic into the audience and danced with the people from the front of the stage to the back of the first section of the ticket holders. ![]() His set had the crowd rocking in their seats until they had to get up and dance. ![]() Bradshaw is a trombonist of the finest and funkiest order. The line-up included Bob James who penned the beautiful Theme from Taxi called “Angela.” James closed with “Angela” and I could see a few people in the audience beam with surprise as the band began the familiar song.Īlso on the lineup was North Philly’s, Jeff Bradshaw. Promoters brought hundreds of people to eat, drink, shop, and party to the live music of some of jazz’s greatest living performers. On Saturday, September 11th, the music tradition of Jazz was celebrated in a large and living way in Atlantic City.
